Inside Green Common’s New Flagship At Nexxus Building

Since closing its well-loved Green Common flagship location and Kind Kitchen at Nan Fung Place several months ago, the Green Monday team have been busy working on their brand new flagship location in Central. Now, the wait is finally over as it opens to the public tomorrow (Wednesday, 6 October)!

Located on Des Voeux Road Central in Nexxus Building (yes, the former location of HOME – Eat To Live), we had a chance to get a sneak peek and try out some of their delicious new menu items.

Green Common at Nexxus Building is a four-in-one concept that offers a coffee and drinks bar, grab-and-go counter, grocery store and gourmet dining, all in one location. Decked out in a calming “Green Common aqua” colour, the store is spread across two floors with plenty of space to sit down and enjoy some plant-based goodies.

The ground floor is where you’ll be able to get your daily plant-based cuppa joe along with their signature Oatly Hong Kong style milk tea, newly launched superfood smoothies and other vegan milk foam topped juices. Next to the drinks bar, you’ll find a grab-and-go counter with healthy snacks and meals including bircher muesli, kombucha, and wholesome salads that are perfect for a quick lunch. Don’t forget to grab a few snacks to go from the retail area, including our faves, Skinny Thins and Cauliflower Puffs!

Upstairs is the restaurant and dine-in area that showcases Asian fusion cuisine along with a vegan wine collection. In case you didn’t know, many wines use animal products such as egg whites, gelatin or casein as fining, which is why Green Common stocks 10 different vegan wines and sakes to go with your meal.

The dishes we especially loved include the sweet and sour Lolli-OmniPork made from a mix of Omni Pork Luncheon and OmniPork Strip, an amazing Smoked Wellington and delicate Ochazuke featuring a creamy OmniCrab patty over rice. Try the four-course dinner tasting menu for a bit of everything – priced at HK$328, it will be refreshed regularly with the seasons.

Founder and CEO of Green Monday, David Yeung, took us on a personalised mini tour of the space, saying “this is a whole new Green Concept 2.0 concept that guarantees to impress, empower and transform.” Watch the video below for more:
